Forgotten yet Present
Materials
Cante of Paris, and charcoal on a 18” x 24” sheet of paper.
Date
2022
As I grew, no longer playing with toys, I found I still could not bear to part with them. Therefore, my stuffed animals were packed together in a closet in order to make space. I had entirely forgotten about them, yet there they were not six feet from my bed, ever-present. Upon rediscovering them, I recalled once again the individualities of each of these toys. I chose to draw them as they were, tucked away and rejected in my closet, and wished to convey the identity that each of them still seems to hold. In order to do this, I used graphite, Cante of Paris, and charcoal on a 18” x 24” sheet of paper.
